ABOUT

Vivian Liu is a designer based in New York and China. Her work moves between branding, typography, editorial, and fashion-driven visual concepts, often exploring how ideas can shift between structure and emotion.

Currently studying at the School of Visual Arts (SVA), she focuses on translating complex ideas into clear and tangible visual systems. Outside of design, she enjoys photography, handcraft, and tennis, and often collects small moments of inspiration—some of which eventually develop into projects.😊

PROJECTS

11. A LIVING COLLECTION

Inspired by traditional paper cutting, this project treats craft as a living system rather than a static artifact. It reflects the dialogue between past and present, where each piece carries both cultural memory and contemporary reinterpretation.

This platform functions as a digital archive and interactive collection space, where handmade works are preserved, recontextualized, and continuously expanded. Through image, process, and narrative, it allows traditional craft to speak in its own evolving voice.

The UI/UX design centers on the idea of “Collection as Experience.” A modular interface, layered navigation, and fluid transitions mirror the act of discovering, collecting, and unfolding paper. The system emphasizes clarity and tactility, creating a bridge between physical craftsmanship and digital interaction.

Designed to scale across mobile and web, the platform transforms paper cutting from a fragile tradition into an accessible, living collection.
