ABOUT

Vivian Liu is a designer based in New York and China. Her work moves between branding, typography, editorial, and fashion-driven visual concepts, often exploring how ideas can shift between structure and emotion.

Currently studying at the School of Visual Arts (SVA), she focuses on translating complex ideas into clear and tangible visual systems. Outside of design, she enjoys photography, handcraft, and tennis, and often collects small moments of inspiration—some of which eventually develop into projects.😊

PROJECTS

9. SERENIA

SERENIA is a brand centered on softness, stillness, and quiet transformation. It explores calm as an active state—where emotion, space, and perception unfold subtly over time. Rooted in the idea of “Invisible Fashion,” the brand moves away from loud expression, focusing instead on presence through restraint. Garments and visual elements exist between visibility and disappearance, creating a sense of lightness and fluidity.

The visual system reflects this philosophy through minimal compositions, soft gradients, and slow, breathing motion. Typography and layout remain restrained, allowing space and rhythm to carry meaning. SERENIA is not about immediate impact, but about what is gradually felt—an experience that invites pause, attention, and a deeper awareness of subtle change.
